Mark Mazza is CEO of Southwest Express, a Western Australian transport company specialising in frozen and chilled goods.

Mark’s career in the trucking industry began in 1983 as a truck driver, working for various companies across WA before purchasing his own truck in 1993.

With his wife Andrea, Mark worked his way into a thriving transport company, Southwest Express. Operating a fleet of more than 30 trucks and employing more than 65 people, Southwest Express has a reputation for being at the forefront of innovation, technology and safety.

Mark is passionate about improving industry standards and is a strong advocate for apprentice systems and standardising and lifting industry skills for the nation’s professional drivers.

Mark believes the government and industry should fund a facility and develop a TAFE-supported apprenticeship to adequately train new entrants to the transport industry.
