In 2011, the Australian Government estimated that improving truck regulation would deliver $11 billion in national economic benefits. Those national benefits haven’t arrived.

In this session, Deloitte Access Economics will:

  • overview our industry and its role in the national economy
  • review the 2011 estimates and how things have worked out
  • identify policies that would cut red tape and boost the industry’s performance
  • assess the economic benefits of those policies, with new economic modelling.

Deloitte Access Economics is Australia’s leading economic consultancy. The ATA commissioned Deloitte to do this work as part of our campaign for better truck regulation.

Later, in Friday’s workshop and collaboration sessions, you’ll get to discuss in detail what needs to be done to fix access and OSOM permits.
